ABPA'S Capacity-Building Grant with DCTV
Rebecca Burnett of DCTV interviews Founder Fuad Sahouri
We are delighted to share our awarding of a Capacity-Building Grant from DCTV focusing on marketing, video production and fundraising. ABPA founder Fuad Sahouri was interviewed by DCTV as a part of their "Impact Moment" series which highlights non-profits in the DC Metropolitan area and works to showcase the lasting impacts that non-profits are making in DC. This video highlights the ways ABPA changes the lives of students every day. With the help of this DCTV spotlight, Mr. Sahouri hopes that this series will reach students to let them know about everything ABPA has to offer. Mr. Sahouri highlights in the series that the ABPA mission statement strives to include and represent all students.
Meet our new Programs Coordinator- Amanda Rommes

Amanda is a graduate of  Arizona State University with a Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Leadership and Management. During Amanda's college career, Amanda focused her work on non-profits that offered programs to underserved communities that would further an individual’s professional development. That is what primarily interested her in the work and impact that ABPA has.

In Amanda's free time, she enjoys writing short stories accompanied by a cup of coffee, doing volunteer work, taking photos on a beautiful day, and hiking new places with her two dogs and husband. Amanda is beyond excited to bring her experiences to the ABPA team and be a part of the incredible change they are making in the lives of young professionals.

Another Successful Internship Recruitment Cycle with The Bureau of Land Management
In collaboration with the Bureau of Land Management, ABPA has wrapped up another year of its Summer internship Program. The Bureau of Land Management has a five-year contract with ABPA and has been recruiting for their DHA-RAI program for the Summer 2022 term. In 2019, the ABPA team started its one-year partnership with BLM but had to take a brief pause for the COVID-19 pandemic. This past 2022 recruiting session, we had more students selected than any other year with a significant increase in applicants that applied on websites like Handshake and on social media (this went from 17% in 2021 to 50% in 2022).
Follow ABPA on our new and improved LinkedIn page!
ABPA is currently embarking on creating a more expansive LinkedIn account for new students looking for internships, past student ambassadors, and business professionals. ABPA hopes to include student testimonials, current events and networking opportunities. Make sure to follow us on LinkedIn for further ABPA updates.
University Networking with ABPA
On March 30th, ABPA Institute attended its first college career fair since the Covid-19 pandemic. ABPA Programs Administrator Aliya Qutub described the event at American University as "it was wonderful to be back in-person connecting with students and other employers". From that event at American University alone, ABPA was able to recruit and connect with over 60 students.

On April 1st, Founder Fuad Sahouri represented ABPA Institute at the UVA Darden Executive MBA event. The event focused on non-profits called "Advocate, Give, and Serve". The ABPA Institute was honored to receive an honorarium grant and Mr. Sahouri was able to connect with UVA's impressive class of Executive MBA students.

Represent ABPA and Become a Student Ambassador on Your Campus
Join the ABPA Student Ambassador Program and represent ABPA on your campus for Fall 2022! The Student Ambassador Program is designed to allow students to expand on their networking and communications skills while exposing them to leadership opportunities.

An ABPA Student Ambassador promotes the values and mission of ABPA to university students within their specific university. An ambassador serves as an ABPA representative and acts as a reference point for students interested in learning, engaging, and joining ABPA. A Student Ambassador for ABPA promotes ABPA’s mission and values on his or her college campus. The Ambassador serves as a representative for ABPA and acts as a reference point for fellow students and career service officials who are interested in learning about ABPA’s Internship Placement Program. ABPA has only one Student Ambassador on a college campus for each academic year, so this position is very important! We are actively recruiting new student ambassadors, interested in applying?
